Shooting in Chatham

A 17-year-old boy was shot and seriously wounded in the Chatham neighborhood at about 11:35 p.m. when he was walking in a group on the 7900 block of South Evans Avenue. A male attacker approached and fired shots, striking the teen in his cheek and leg, according to police.

The teen went in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

No other injuries were reported, police said.

No one was in custody and Calumet Area detective were investigating.
